St. Cloud, MN – St. Cloud State University Athletics and head hockey coach Brett Larson announced today that the goal to begin construction of the Strength and Conditioning room at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center has been reached. A final push over the past month was instrumental in surpassing the $500,000 needed to convert the area in the SW corner of the facility with construction expected to be completed by September of 2019.
The fundraising was a collaborative effort of hockey alumni, staff and fans and really took traction during the month of October. Coach Larson remarked “It’s a huge deal for our program. It finishes off the locker room area and training area and puts us up there with anybody as far as facilities in the country. I just want to thank all our alumni and supporters. People really stepped up to help our program and it definitely means a lot.”
