The pairings and game times have been announced for the NCHC playoffs at the Target Center on Friday and they slot #6 seeded St. Cloud State vs #1 seed North Dakota at 4:08 PM. The Huskies are fresh off a weekend sweep of 7/8 Omaha on the road this past weekend by scores of 3-2 (overtime) Friday and 3-1  on Saturday. Junior David Morley led the Huskies with three goals over the weekend including the GWG in overtime on Friday. Senior Nick Oliver netted the game winner on Saturday and was the games #1 star. The other matchup on Friday at 7:38 PM is #2 Miami vs #4 Denver in what should be another dandy of a game. The Huskies are 1-3 against North Dakota in the 2014-15 season and were swept by North Dakota by scores of 3-2 and 3-1 in two close games on February 27/28 in Grand Forks.  The Huskies Pairwise ranking has bounced around quite a bit since Friday going from #16 to #13 to #9 and ultimately settling at #11 after the final game of the weekend completed on Sunday evening. Common knowledge is that the Huskies need a win in at least one of the NCHC playoff games to be in a comfortable position for an NCAA bid. Currently the Huskies record stands at 18-17-1. A team’s record needs to be at least .500 to be eligible for the NCAA tournament. The Huskies have played the second toughest schedule in college hockey this season which has benefited their Pairwise ranking.
